Over the past few weeks I’ve been using up bunches of kale in salads, this lemon kale pesto and in lots of smoothies like this Kale Smoothie with Pear. Kale has a strong flavor, but if you combine it in just the right way it can be a great variation on a traditional green smoothie which I usually make with tender baby spinach.
Kale Smoothie with Pear
Serving Size: 1-2 (20 ounces) ~170 calories total
Ingredients
1 cup curly green kale*, stems removed
1 pear*, frozen (seeds removed)
1/2 banana, frozen
1 cup water
1 cup ice
